I have 271 products, each of which needed to have the same 4 attributes added to them, in the same order.  To do this via the interface is nigh impossible in a reasonable amount of time, so I manipulated the DB directly.

With that in mind, I had a few ideas that might be useful in future versions.

1) Could we assign attributes based on the Product Type....for example if I sell both Tea and Coffee and have 100 of each, it would be great to be able to add an attribute for how to grind the beans to all coffees by simply specifying the product type.

2) Perhaps a way to select multiple products like a list with checkboxes and then add the same attributes to that would work.
