Yes,  as long as you set up api credentials correctly.

I’m getting the error message “PayPal Express Checkout failed. Please contact store for more information.” After clicking the PayPal Express checkout button on both localhost and webhosted installation.
 
I’m using:
  • AliCommerce v1.2.8 Community Edition
  • DNN 04.08.03
  • SQL 2005
  • IIS .NET Framework 2.0.50727.1433

In de AS_C_EventLogs i found the next eventlogs on the webhosted installation (on localhost i got the same type of eventslogs):

I configured my PayPal Express production credentials in de Store Admin module in the section Payments->PayPal->Edit.

My webstore is in the Dutch language, the currency is set to Euro's and PayPal Express is set to Production mode.

I changed the portal language from NL to US and changed the Currency from Euro's to US Dollars.

At least now i'm getting the PayPal checkout page instead of the checkout failure. Unfortunately i can't test it because they don't allow me to transfer money from an account to the same account.

This looks like a format problem of amounts, in different currencies, to me. The Dutch format for amounts is 9.999.999,99 and the United states format is 9,000,000.00

Any help on this topic is appreciated very much.

I had the same locale / currency problem with paypal express checkout.
A quick bug report send to info@alicommerce.com and the next day I got a dll fix (what a support!!! it is essential though)

You might want to email them to obtain the fix as well.

If i can get AliCommerce to work fully with PayPal Express and other Payment providers then i will buy the latest version and accept your invitation for joined efforts on translation.

Do i understand it correctly that you, after the dll fix, are able to select the dutch or belgium language without getting the PayPal Express checkout failure message?

If you are using other Payment gateways, which one do use succesfully?

The hot fix Thomas mentioned is what we created for alicommerce 2.0. Because there are so many changes between 2 versions,  I don't think it will work alicommerce 1.2.8.
