"No Stock Point" and "Low Stock Point"

I'm looking at the Vendors and Manufacturers, and I'm looking at the No Stock Point and the Low Stock Point, and I'm finally seeing how they're supposed to come together! Surely the Low Stock Point is in place so that when the inventory drops to that point, the site sends out an email (I'm not sure whether that email goes to the store owner, the vendor or the manufacturer, but it'd be great if that were up to me) as a reminder to reorder. Am I right?

So here I am with it all figured out, but I can't find a way to make it work, nor can I find any mention of it on this site, in the documentation, or in the forum. Perhaps I'm wrong about the way it's supposed to work. If I am, can you tell me what the Low Stock Point and the No Stock Point are actually for? And if I'm right, can you tell me how to operate it and get the system to actually send the email?

Thanks!

(Actually, I haven't been able to figure in the No Stock Point into any practical use whatsoever, so I need a little help with that one regardless. What on earth does this do?)

Re: "No Stock Point" and "Low Stock Point"

Oh, and a related question — what does the "Email Template" dropdown in the Edit Supplier (Vendor or Manufacturer) form represent? It's an empty dropdown for me, but I don't see anywhere to create a new supplier email template.

Thank you.

You're pretty smart. Regarding low stock point, what you said is correct. "Low stock" related features have not been fully implemented, but we plan to get them done in the next major release.

"No Stock Point" actually means "out of stock point". When product inventory reaches this amount (no stock point), it will become out of stock, and that's where Out of stock Mode starts to play.

This is planned for the future release.
