Complete Site Failure on Install

We loaded the module this morning, and after install, the entire site has shut down, we are not even able to get to host to restart.

We REALLY need to get this back up as soon as possible, but we are stuck here.

Our site: www.PixelMatters.biz

We are running 4.8.2 DNN

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

We cant, GoDaddy does not allow it.  We now have three people trying to fix this, and they cant. It has completely destroyed my site, and the site will not come back up, and the hosting company does not know how to fix this.

Now if you go look at our site, its not working, and it shows the error. But we cant FIX the error because there is nothing in the web.config file that references it, and there are no more AliCommerce database references as we removed them.

Now this is damaging our company web presence BADLY. We need this fixed, or tell us how to get it out. We can NOT get the site to come up.

Go look: www.pixelmatters.biz

We are not yelling, but this is serious for us as we do get our clients through this site.

Here is the error you will get when you go to the site:

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

1.    Update web.config file. Install process updated web.config file. To restore it, find \Config\reference.config in module install directory. The content in the file is what needs to be removed from web.config.

2.    Delete module install directory. Now your site shoud be back.

3.    Uninstall 5 modules from Host tab.

4.    Delete all AliCommerce related tables which start with AS_C_. Just select all AliCommerce tables, right click your mouse, select Delete menu and Delete Objects window will display. On this window, Keep clicking OK button (at least 4 times) until all selected tables are deleted.

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

There is no trace of anything in our web.config file, nothing. The directory is gone, the tables are all gone. Our web.config file looks perfectly normal, and there is not one matching word in it that pretains to any aspect of your reference.config file.

The site is still down, and we are going on 8 hours of trying to get it back up. The second we installed your script, the entire site crashed, and shut the site down, and would not let us get to any aspect of our site, no admin, no site, no restart, nothing.

WHAT lines are added to the web.config that we are not able to see? There is nothing in it.

Your need to remove these entries from your web.config or restore it using your latest backup.

    <section name="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler,log4net" />
    <section name="hibernate-configuration" type="NHibernate.Cfg.ConfigurationSectionHandler, NHibernate" />
    <section name="castle" type="Castle.Windsor.Configuration.AppDomain.CastleSectionHandler, Castle.Windsor" />

  <add name="NHibernateSessionModule" type="AliSuite.Commerce.HttpModules.NHibernateSessionModule, AliSuite.Commerce.HttpModules" />
  <add name="ErrorModule" type="AliSuite.Commerce.HttpModules.ErrorModule, AliSuite.Commerce.HttpModules" />

  <log4net configSource="DesktopModules\AliCommerce\Config\log4net.config" />
  <hibernate-configuration configSource="DesktopModules\AliCommerce\Config\nhibernate.config" />
  <castle configSource="DesktopModules\AliCommerce\Config\castle.config" />

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

Those lines right there, are nowhere in my web.config file. They do not exist. No where.

I can even search my web.config file for the words: log4net or castle and its not found. I have reuploaded the web.config file 4 times, and its still down.

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

Ok, its back up now. That was a long restoration job. Thank you for your help. Needless to say, this module will not work with GoDaddy, and can cause serious issues.

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

Glad to hear you got your site running again.

To be fair, it's not the fault of AliCommerce that your hosting provider won't give you the needed server settings.  You would have had a problem with almost all eCommerce packages with the lack of Full Trust being set.

The lesson here is GoDaddy is aBitShabby. Avoid them.

Re: Complete Site Failure on Install

Ok I probably made a mistake here. I downloaded the new file and installled it over the top of the one I had previously installed. It crashed my site.So I edited the web.config and removed the lines that were cuasing the prob. My site came back up with the module directory still installed and the tabs still installed.The error im getting now is :  A critical error has occurred.
The type initializer for 'AliSuite.Core.DependencyInjector' threw an exception

What do  you recomend from here. reinstall or remove entirely and reinstall?
