I've struggled through the shipping settings and still have not been able to get it right. Simply stated, I need shipping costs set per item. ie. Book A is $5.00 shipping per book in order .... while Book B is $6.50 per book per order. Can someone help please? |

Ok, not very clear.
I went to Shipping ... added a new 'By Order Item Count' rule and saw no option for flat rate. Added a row in the Shipping Table for Item count: 0 Amount 5.00. It works fine when I order 1 book, but if I order 2 of the same book, the shipping is STILL 5.00. It should be $10.
Here's what I want to do ... but its impossible to understand how to do this.
BOOK A .. shipping is $5.00 per book. so 2 x BOOK A should be $10.00
BOOK B .. shipping is $6.50 per book. so 2 x BOOK B should be $13.00
I tried every combination ... even setting the books to Ship Separately: . Help!
I agree. A flat rate for all shippable items could be set to $5.00, and ExtraShipping put on BOOK B to $1.50. That would be great. I need it per book ordered. I've already wasted 2 hours trying everything. |

I guess I am also finding the shipping less than intuitive for myself.
What is the Adjust By and Percent or Amount?
We would like to provide Free shipping on orders of 2 or more products or possibly amounts over $50.
So how can this be accomplished? I don't see it with the Greater Than or Equal to Setting in the algorithm.
Thanks for any ideas you can provide.
BTW, the forums were down last night and I sent you an email directly. If you (Frank) get a chance to reply that would be great.

I'd use a shipping offer in that scenario. Go to Store Admin - Marketing - Offers and select Shipping Offer. Adjust by 100% and set your order size and/or price levels as required. |

Andy,
Thanks for the clue. I had not seen that area yet. Is there a detailed set of Documentation on the entire cart? I have the quick start but need a detailed document for every setting.
On the Shipping Offer, how do I know if the options are AND'd or OR'd together? It requires something in the Order Qty, Order Total > and Order Total <.
So I want it to be if the Order Total > 50 ($) but that can be derived from a variety of quantities. How do I know which it will use? Qty or Total $? I guess I still have some questions on that. If you can point me to some docs that would be great.
Also, it looks like I don't post much, but about half the time I come online to post questions, the forums are not working. Maybe Frank could spring for the new ActiveForums 4 that is about to come out with Social Networking tied into it. Just a thought.

I set up the Offer but I am not sure where it would apply. Does it just show up on the Checkout?
Right now, if I put in several products over $50 total when I get to checkout the shipping says
$0.00 - Can't calculate shipping for the order. Please contact store for details.
Did I do something incorrectly? |

This message means there is no shipping method defined for the current shipping address.

OK, so what I did was what Andy recommended to accomplish the free shipping on two or more products. I created an Offer as Free Shipping Offer if Qty of 2 or more is ordered. What I thought was that this would be applied at checkout. Should I be applying the Offer somewhere in the product setup? I set the Free Shipping Offer for All shipping methods.

As you probably saw in my other thread post, this concept that the Shipping Offer supercedes the Main Shipping table algorithm was true, but it just came to me at the last moment. Things are becoming a little clearer now.
Is the Notification system working on the forums. I don't think I have received any emails for the threads where I have checked the Notification box?

I have two shipping scenarios that I cannot figure out in Ali-Commerce v2.0
1. I need to allow the Buyer to select a special "Curb" side shipping option at their discretion during checkout.
2. How do I calculate shipping as a percent of the Total Product Cost? So for all products that cost <=249.99 I want to charge 10% shipping.
Thanks,

Sorry, I don't understand your first question.

To explain the 1st question :
1. I need to allow the Buyer to select a special "Curb" side shipping option at their discretion during checkout.
In the above scenario the Buyer adds products to their shopping cart and upon checkout we have a special shipping method that's optional that the buyer can select if they so choose. In this case for our products it is not standard to ship to their residence unless they pay extra shipping. So we want to somehow provide them with the option to select this shipping option (curb-side-shipping) upon check-out if possible.
As far as question two is concerned you told me in a previous email that I could calculate shipping based on a percent. Maybe I wasn't clear. My goal is to charge a shipping fee which is 10% of the total cost of the Products selected and placed in the cart up to 249.99. Is this possible?
See your comments:
Yes, it's supported out of box. Please select "By Order Total" as shipping service (algorithm) and create your shipping methods on it.
Is it possible to calculate shipping based on a percent? For example on all orders under $250.00 apply 10%? If so can you tell me where in the e-store this is done?
