This is what I copied from quick start guide:

"AliCommerce can run from portal alias “localhost” without a license key. You will need a license key to run it from
other portal aliases. Please send us the portal alias your store will run on by e-mail, and we’ll send you a license
key soon. To speed the process, please include your order information, if any, within your request."
