Hi,
For the store I'm looking at running I, imagine - in an optimum world - would look like this:
- Each vendor has a login, and can control their products. The store admin can ofcourse owerwrite them.
- All items go to one 'cart'
- The administrator can either choose a single checkout process, where all transactions go throught a single payment process, and then all the vendors get informed about what they need to ship.
- Or, the one I would prefer for my store, when the user fills in all their shipping information etc. They go through a payment for each indivdiual ventor from whose goods they have. That was I as the store owner don't need to worry about paying the vendors from my account etc
Thanks!

I agree with this - but would modify the last bullet. I'd like a single checkout and allow the merchant [vendor] to "withdraw" their own funds (like PayPal or Amazon) from their account admin page.
In addition, as the storefront owner (site owner), I'd like to be able to set a percentage or flat rate fee (or both like PayPal) so I can take my commission directly from the sale and the remainder would be in the merchant's account. All this should be automatic and I, like the merchants, could withdraw my balance when I wanted it.
In this scenario, when refunding, you would also need to refund any "fees" that were collected by the storefront owner....again, just like PayPal. So perhaps there could be another setting that would insure the storefront owner and merchant are not permitted to withdraw all the money from the account. For example, if I have a 7 day return policy, I would allow withdrawing all the money except for that collected over the past 7 days. Does that make sense? This could be called "Funds Available". So you'd end up with a "Funds Available" and an "Account Balance" - the latter being the total since last withdraw.
