I'm looking at AliCommerce again now that it's version 2. So far I'm very impressed. From the code structure and css implementation to the easy of use and simplicity, you've done a great job. You nailed it on the head as far as usability goes. I just finished a site using ASPDNSF (non-DNN) and it turned out fine but not a pleasant experience. Trying to bring customers up to speed on the admin, and tons of errors from their c# to vb conversion. Decent support but for a $1200+ product .. disappointing and awkward to modify.

I want to drop using ASPDNSF as a cart solution and move to a DNN cart as we're heavy on the DNN framework. I Demo'd the other DNN carts and well .. I like yours alot better. One of my main concerns is quantity of product. Many of my customers have a need for up to about a thousand products and I think AliCommerce may be a great solution. My latest customer requires roughly 5,000 products, with the potential of 100,000 products. Should this be a concern for me with AliCommerce? What is a safe maximum?

Also, I'm wondering if you might share a little of the future development plans for AliCommerce version 3.0 or longer term, where the product will go. Support and upgradability also is an obvious concern.

Thanks Kindly and great job!

Kelly

Thank you for the compliments.

So far we only tested alicommerce against 20,000 products and it handled pretty well. I'm pretty confident that a correctly-configured alicommerce store should be able to support much more than the amount.

In alicommerce 3.0, we plan to add the following features: gift certificate, customer management, drop shipping, most popular products, address book, category offer, email a friend, wish list, support for terms and conditions, order edit, low stock report, coupon code report. Of course we need to work on more documentation. There will be a wiki website too.

We only provide free email and forum support at the moment. We plan to introduce Instant Messenger (IM) and phone support for some customers next year. It will be not free though.

So far, all upgrade is free and we don't have plan to change it at the moment.

Hope I have answered all your questions.
